Eagle Scout Class Honoree
J. Thomas Duncan
Retired, Froedtert South, Inc., Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer

Mr. Duncan retired last year as vice president and chief marketing officer of the Froedtert South system in Kenosha, which closed the book on his nearly 50-year career in hospital administration. He’s well-acquainted with Carthage as a parent, faculty member, and financial supporter and was elected a Trustee of Carthage College this past February, 2024

In 2007, the Kenosha Area Chamber of Commerce and the Kenosha Area Business Alliance presented him a Community Service Award for his long-standing commitment to the area. He has served on boards for the Chamber of Commerce, the Education Foundation of Kenosha, the United Way of Kenosha County, the Boys & Girls Club of Kenosha, and Hospice Alliance.

Most recently, Mr. Duncan completed a three-year term on the Kenosha Unified School Board. Elected in 2018, he served as president for the final year. He and his wife, Jan, have two children: Dr. Stephen Duncan and Carthage alumna Erin (Duncan) Zematis ’01.

  • Was Rattlesnake Patrol Leader, Senior Patrol Leader, Governor of Southeast Wisconsin.
  • Spent 3 weeks at Philmont Ranch in the Conservation Corp.
  • Numerous summers at Camp Oh-Da-Ko-Ta.
