Dear Scout Leaders and Parents:
Welcome to our Weekly Challenge Email for the week of May 4. These challenges revolve around a theme that Scouts, parents and families can do together while Scouting at Home. This week’s theme is “Iron Chef”.

|
Iron Chef Challenge
Get ready to pull out your recipe book this week for our Iron Chef theme. You may be new to cooking or you may be an old pro in the kitchen. Either way, plan on keeping your pots and pans busy this week as you work to become the next Iron Chef!
All Scouts
-
Cook a meal for your family. Create a shopping list if you need ingredients not already at your home.
-
Foil Pack Creations – Get creative with what you put in a foil pack meal then submit a picture of what you cook!
-
Create your own cookbook (or recipe box or digital folder) and put all your favorite recipes in it.
-
Try a vegetable or fruit you’ve never had before and record a fun 30-second video reviewing how it tastes.
-
Research healthy snacks and then make two. Take a photo and share your favorite.
-
Bake a dessert and take a picture to share your success (or attempt)!
-
Keep a food journal for a week to learn about your eating habits.
-
Compare the cost of purchasing a meal at a restaurant vs. buying the ingredients to make it.
Parents & Scout Leaders
-
Learn about Food-Borne Illnesses and other Safety Moments from the BSA.

During the month of May, Cub Scouts and Scouts BSA members are invited to participate in our month-long Scouting at Home May Challenge. Each week, Scouts can participate in activities that aid them in their advancement. When a Scout has completed the Scouting at Home May Challenge, they will have completed requirements toward advancement, and they can order a special Scouting at Home patch!
