Dear Scout Leaders and Parents:
Welcome to our Weekly Challenge Email for the week of May 18. These challenges revolve around a theme that Scouts, parents and families can do together while Scouting at Home. This week’s theme is “First Aid”.

First Aid Challenge
First aid and safety skills are included at every level of Scouting and the First Aid merit badge was the most-earned BSA merit badge in 2019… and 2018… and 2017. And, well you get the idea! This week take some time to work on your first aid skills.
All Scouts
- Do you have a home first aid kit? Make sure your first aid kit is stocked with supplies that have not expired; make a list of supplies that you need to replace or add to your kit.
- Make a list of emergency phone numbers and post it on your refrigerator or other location in the house for everyone to access.
- Demonstrate with your parents how to treat for common household injuries such as cuts, sunburn, blisters, insect bites or nosebleeds.
- Discuss ways you can protect yourself when administering first aid.
- Prepare a plan for fire and tornado drills at your house and practice them with your entire family.
- Send a thank you note or message to a first responder or health care provider you know.

During the month of May, Cub Scouts and Scouts BSA members are invited to participate in our Scouting at Home May Challenge.
