As COVID-19 case numbers are rising in Wisconsin, Three Harbors Council’s Scout units are continuing to provide a safe, fun and impactful program for our youth members. Thank you! We ask that all unit leaders follow the current regulations and group size limitations for in-person meetings in their local municipality or county. Please also check with your chartered organization regarding your unit’s meeting plans. To help mitigate the spread of COVID-19, all Scouts, leaders and family members are required to wear face coverings and practice social distancing during Scouting activities.
Alternatives to in-person unit meetings include virtual meetings and outdoor activities with social distancing. Both Camp IMR and Camp Oh-Da-Ko-Ta offer outdoor space for troop, pack and den meetings and activities. There is no charge for units to use pavilions or fire-bowls at camp for meetings. Both camps are open for daytime activities and overnight tent camping, but the cabins and dining halls will remain closed until further notice. For additional information, please check out the BSA’s Safe Restart Checklist and Three Harbors Council’s guidelines can be found here.
Thank you for your leadership in Scouting during these challenging times. Scout on, Safely!

Members of your unit key 3 received the information needed to begin the online rechartering process on October 1. By now, the person administering your unit’s recharter should have logged-on to begin the rechartering process and your unit leaders should be talking to you about submitting membership fees for the coming year. All rechartering paperwork is due to the Council Service Center on December 1 to allow staff time to process and fix any potential errors before the December 31 charter end date.
Remember that all adults must be current on Youth Protection Training to maintain their registration with the BSA. You can update your training at my.scouting.org. Additionally, adults that have not yet submitted the Criminal Background Recheck Authorization must do so before December 31 to remain registered with the BSA.
It’s vital that every unit follow the timeline and procedures to complete their recharter on-time to maintain uninterrupted services from the BSA. All the details you need are locating on the council’s Recharter webpage.

Now is the time to begin planning your unit’s 2021 Family Friends of Scouting presentation. We fully understand the challenges many of our Scouting families are facing and appreciate the financial support so many of you provide to ensure Scouting is available to your children and other children like yours. Friends of Scouting is your opportunity to make a direct financial contribution to Three Harbors Council to enable the council to continue to provide high quality program support, facilities, insurance, and staff resources to you and your unit. Family Friends of Scouting presentations may look different than we’re used to seeing, but they are going to be just as important in 2021 as they have been in the past.

A sincere thank you to all the Scouts, parents and unit leaders that participated in the popcorn and/or wreath sales this fall. Thank you to our vendors and distribution locations for their support of our sales as well. This fall, we saw a significant growth in our online popcorn sales and units saw renewed success with going door-to-door, doing so safely. We saw many innovative pop-up sales locations and new Show & Sell locations. Final payments for popcorn and wreaths are due December 3.
Congratulations to all for a successful sale under these challenging circumstances!
