The surge of COVID-19 cases across Wisconsin shows that the virus is spreading at its highest rate since the onset of the pandemic. Due to high COVID-19 activity levels in Milwaukee, Kenosha and Racine counties, units are not to conduct in-person indoor Scout meetings and activities effective today and continuing until at least January 1, 2021. All units, including troops, packs and dens, are encouraged to hold virtual meetings at this time.
Scout units are to thoughtfully consider whether they can continue to conduct safe outdoor activities and make that decision after consulting with their charter organization. If an outdoor activity is planned, Scouts, leaders and family members should all conduct COVID-19 self-health assessments, wear face coverings, and practice physical distancing of at least six feet throughout the activity. We recognize the importance of outdoor Scouting activities during this time, while being mindful of the risk these activities could pose as Scouts go home to other family members, including those who are vulnerable. If you feel it is unsafe to hold your outdoor activity, please wait until a safer time.
Effective immediately, all district, council and Order of the Arrow events, activities and trainings will be conducted virtually until further notice. Camp Oh-Da-Ko-Ta and Camp IMR will remain open for day activities and overnight tent camping following the one Scout per tent policy. The camp cabins, dining halls and other indoor meeting spaces are closed until further notice. Three Harbors Council’s COVID-19 Scouting Task Force will evaluate the situation in mid-December and will share any updates at that time.
We know that the COVID-19 restrictions have been challenging for our Scouts and leaders. We all look forward to the time when we can continue our in-person Scouting adventures. In the meantime, please visit our Scouting at Home page for activities and advancement your Scout can do from home. Three Harbors Council and the Boy Scouts of America continue to offer virtual programming options:

Please check out the online program options for your Scouts between now and year-end including Cub Scout Online Winter Day Camp on December 28-30, Webelos Adventure Clinic: Project Family on November 21 and Webelos Adventure Clinic: Into the Woods also on November 21.
Cub Scout Adventure Videos
Figuring out how to create a fun den meeting in a virtual setting can feel overwhelming. That’s why the Boy Scouts of America, in partnership with 50 councils across the country, worked to produce these Cub Scout Adventures video resources to help den leaders. Check out the Rolling Tigers Adventure video; that video was made by volunteers and staff here in Three Harbors Council! Please use these videos to enhance your virtual den meetings.
Den Leader Experience
The Den Leader Experience is an easy-to-use tool that all Den Leaders can take advantage of to help them plan and execute den meetings. With online lesson plans, calendar features, video resources and more, this can help make your life as a Den Leader much easier. Check out the Den Leader Experience here.
Thank you for your leadership and involvement in Scouting during these challenging times.
