Due to continued high activity levels of COVID-19 in our area and following the recommendations of state and local health authorities, Three Harbors Council is extending the current prohibition against indoor Scout meetings and activities until further notice. All units, including troops, packs and dens, should continue to hold virtual meetings at this time.
For outdoor activities, Scout leaders should follow the BSA’s SAFE Restart Checklist and consult with their charter organization to decide whether they can safely hold outings. If an outdoor activity is planned, Scouts, leaders and family members should conduct a COVID-19 self-health assessment, wear face coverings, and practice physical distancing throughout the activity. We encourage Scout leaders and parents to visit the Scouting at Home page for activities and advancements your Scout can do from home. Online Merit Badge and Webelos Adventure classes are also listed here.
Camp Oh-Da-Ko-Ta and Indian Mound Scout Reservation remain open for unit activities, however, the cabins, dining halls and other indoor meeting spaces are closed until further notice. District, Council and Order of the Arrow meetings and activities will continue to be conducted virtually. These groups may hold outdoor meetings and activities if approved in advance by the COVID-19 Scouting Task Force. Please contact the Task Force via Wally Smith, Director of Camping Services, at Wally.Smith@Scouting.org.
Three Harbors Council’s COVID-19 Scouting Task Force will provide an update prior to the end of January. The exciting news of the first shipments of the vaccine arriving in Wisconsin gives us all hope that our Scouting adventures will return to normal sometime in 2021. In the meantime, we wish you and your family a happy and safe holiday season.
Scout on, Safely!
