You can still sign-up to participate in the Popcorn Sale this fall. First, you need to tell Three Harbors Council that you plan to sell popcorn. Sign-up online with Three Harbors Council here.
Once you’ve signed-up with the council to sell popcorn, you will need to register with Pecatonica. You can do that by going to the Pecatonica website to register and create a new profile for the 2021 Sale. The Council Key is 636THC.
We want to encourage EVERY unit that typically participates in the popcorn sale to rejoin the sale this year. Even if your unit is in good financial shape, some of your families may look forward to this opportunity to help pay for some of or all their Scouting expenses. Plus, with a little extra money from a really successful sale, think of what more you can do with your unit program to welcome new families back and invite new families into Scouting!
The deadline to earn your 1% registration bonus is September 9, 2021. To earn your extra 1% registration commission, you must register with both the council and Pecatonica.
If you have not attended either the in-person training or the online training, there is still an opportunity to earn your 1% commission. Please contact your District Kernel to make arrangements for training and to pick up your unit’s sales material. The deadline to earn your 1% training commission is September 9, 2021.
Tutorial Videos & Online Sales
Please view the Pecatonica River tutorial videos for additional help. They have several videos explaining how to create Online Seller ID’s, the MY PR popcorn tools, as well as a number of other tools to help the unit and the Scouts have the most successful sale possible.
Unit Popcorn Kick-off
Holding a fun, informative Popcorn Sales Kick-off is a great way to excite your Scouts about the importance of selling popcorn and informing parents of how selling popcorn can help offset some or potentially all the costs of Scouting for families or the unit!
During the Product Sales Trainings held in early August, you saw an example of a Product Sales Kick-off that you can replicate in your unit to help build some enthusiasm behind your unit’s popcorn sales. Plan that kick-off now using the sample agenda in your Popcorn Leader’s Guide
Show & Sell Tips & Reminders
Pick n’ Save is allowing show and sell to take place at their stores. To reserve your spot, please sign up for a slot through their sign up genius. To sign up, look under popcorn Sale Resources. Click on the Pick n’ Save show & Sell tab, and download the PDF. From there you can sign up for slots.
Also consider show & deliver sales. Take product you ordered from your show and sell, then load up a Wagon, or back of a car, wheel barrel, etc. and sell product that you have on hand to your friends, family and neighbors.
Pop-up sales are another great way to sell product to the public. Consider selling in a parking lot of a busy strip mall, or local community hang out. This might be a great way to sell popcorn to the community!
Advertise your sale! Post it on Facebook, Nextdoor, and other social media accounts, and ask people to support your Scouting adventures! Remember, we are selling Scouting just as much as popcorn.
Show & Sell Product Pick-up
Units that have ordered Show & Sell popcorn will need to pick-up their product on September 9 if your unit selected CH Coakley for pick-up or September 10 if your unit selected Premier Products for pick-up. We are NOT able to change your pick-up location.
Unit kernels will receive an email from email@example.com no later than Wednesday, September 1 to select a time to pick-up popcorn. It is VERY IMPORTANT that you arrange for your popcorn to get picked-up at the time you select. We are guests of these warehouses and it’s important that we respect their operations and hours!
Warehouse Help Needed – Show & Sell Product Pick-up
We need volunteers to help sort & distribute our popcorn product. If you are available to help with our upcoming warehouse days, please sign up to assist on our survey here. We will be sorting at Premier Products starting on Wednesday, September 8 and distributing there on Friday, September 10. We will be sorting and distributing from CH Coakley on Thursday, September 9. Please fill out our survey here to sign up to help on any of those days.
