Three Harbors Council - ContentCub Scout Aquatic Adventure Clinics at Summer Camp 2024

All Lions, Tigers, Wolves, Bears, Webelos, and Arrow of Light Scouts are invited to join us for the Cub Scout Aquatic Adventure Clinics at Camp Oh-Da-Ko-Ta.  Camp Staff will lead the clinics and assist Cub Scouts with their swimming.

Cub Scouts earn Adventures that are specific to their grade and rank. A number of Adventures must be completed to earn the badge of rank for each grade level. Completion of Adventures is how the aims of character, citizenship, leadership, and personal fitness are developed.

Lions Time to Swim Adventure Clinics (going into K5)

With proper and qualified supervision and following the Safety Afloat rules, Lions will be taught how to stay safe in the water and get comfortable with swimming. Lions can either complete the requirements or take swim lessons to earn this Adventure. Lions, prepare for an exciting journey full of fun challenges and adventures that will help you learn to swim!

Tiger in the Water Adventure Clinics (going into 1st Grade)

This Adventure loop is designed to fit the Cub Scout web belt. It features a gold background and a clear protective film to prevent scratching. Under properly qualified supervision and following Safety Afloat rules, Tigers will learn to stay safe and get comfortable in the water. Tigers can earn this Adventure by completing the requirements or taking swim lessons.

Wolf Paws for Water Adventure Clinics (going into 2nd Grade)

Water is necessary to our survival just as much as it is a huge "fun" contributor, too! This Adventure loop is designed to fit the Cub Scout web belt. It features a silver background and a clear protective film to prevent scratching. To earn this Adventure, Wolves may enroll in and complete a swimming instruction program offered by an accredited instructor or pass the BSA swimmer test.

Bear Salmon Run Adventure Clinics (going into 3rd Grade)

Water is all around us and in this adventure, you get to mix water play with water safety! You will talk about water safety rules as they pertain to boating and to swimming and review different tools used for boating. You will visit a pool and learn two different kinds of rescue techniques and about the buddy system. You will also discuss the importance of response personnel and lifeguards in a swimming area. Lastly, you will go swimming and may try to earn the Boy Scouts of America beginner swim classification! Upon completing the requirements for this adventure, you will earn the Salmon Run elective adventure loop.

Webelos Aquanaut Adventure Clinics (going into 4th Grade)

Swimming is great exercise and a whole lot of fun. It is also an important skill to learn when you consider that 70 percent of the Earth is covered in water. In this Adventure, you’ll discover how to enjoy swimming and how to respond to water emergencies.  Time to grab your swimsuit and your buddy tag and hit the water.

Arrow of Light Swimming Adventure Clinics (going into 5th Grade)

As you get ready to join Scouts BSA, there are new aquatic activities that you will get the chance to do. Small-boat sailing, SCUBA, and overnight canoe treks are just some of the great adventures. To earn many of the aquatic-based merit badges in Scouts BSA, you will need to pass the BSA swimmer test.

In this Adventure you do not have to pass the BSA swimmer test; you just need to attempt it. If you do not pass the swimmer test for this Adventure, you can practice before you go to Scouts BSA summer camp or sign up for a session on how to swim at the camp you attend. As a swimmer you will have more merit badges you can earn at summer camp.
